It all started about 40 years ago when owner, Harry Bohay, decided to open an old-fashioned ice cream store in his hometown of South Bound Brook, New Jersey. Focusing on a product that Harry knew many of his family and friends would love, he made the decision to stick to ice cream that was classic and simple, flavors that would last, and something that customers would love. As it turns out, that same mentality and desire for classic ice cream flavors is what brings our faithful customers back year after year.
Running the storefront for many years with his sister, Stella Bohay Sutton, Harry always makes a point to greet each and every customer as if they were his friend. Collaborating with his family to deliver great service, a friendly atmosphere and fabulous ice cream, Harry can always be found mulling around the store making sure that he is ready for his rush of daily customers.
Hi-Tams is a staple of South Bound Brook. It is that type of store that generations love to visit, yet will always welcome new customers into its life. Still operating out of its original location on Main Street in South Bound Brook, Hi-Tams is open daily from March - October, weather permitting.
